Helmets

Ballistic and bump helmets serve different missions. Ballistic models stop rounds and fragmentation but add significant weight and cost; bump helmets protect against impact and abrasion without that burden, making them practical for extended wear during training or non-hostile operations. Choose ballistic protection only if threat environment justifies it. Consider retention system design, cheek pad configuration, and rail compatibility with your mounting setup. Weight distribution matters more than raw mass when you’re wearing it for hours.
